The Collaboratory: a Virtual, Collaborative Learning Environment

Video demonstration from the 1997 CHI conference. The Collaboratory is the result of a future-oriented project in learning, in which the process of human-centered design was applied to the observed problems and opportunities in learning in high schools. It is a shared virtual space which teaches and facilitates collaboration and project work. This video describes the Collaboratory project and demonstrates the environment and interface as a product of the users and design process which helped develop it.
