Our public lands and waters are important to us in many ways. A lot of our history, our heritage is in these lands. Our ancestors came from many cultures. They left their marks on the land, and they left their spirits in our care.

You know, from our lands and waters we get everything we need to live like the food we eat, lumber to build our houses, and the fuel to power our industries. But maybe most importantly, our public lands and waters provide us some of the most enjoyable moments and memories.

There's so much to see and do in this magnificent country - thousands of miles of streams, clear desert air, the crisp chill of a Rocky Mountain morning. Maybe the seashore is your destination. We can even stay home and enjoy our public lands.
